Author :
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Great quality, fiddly controls, display not ideal...
This clock radio/cd looks and feels good solid quality. A case of you get what you pay for.The sound is quite decent and there is no motor noise at all from the CD player. It is a pleasing and different design to the usual. But in use it has a couple of disadvantages -
1)the controls are tiny and fiddly especially for a bedside device that you may need to operate in the dark. It takes quite a while to figure it all out and to change the alarm time or mode. Not a problem if you get up the same time every day but annoying if you work shifts.
2)The time display is dark numbers on a lit background and even on the lowest setting that background is rather bright for sleeping right next to.AND it is hard to read the time when your eyes are not quite focussed. An older fashioned display with LED numbers is definitely better.

Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Not as good as i thought
The clock radio is not as big as i thought, quite space-conscious, the sound effect is good. The LED part is carefully designed for conveniency, you can read the time clearly from the LED even if you place the radio on the floor. Snoozinazor is very useful.
But all the merits of this clock radio are cancelled by deadly pitfalls: the reception really let me down; there is no such weather alert mode or weather band which are highlighted as main features of this product says on the webpage; only 20 memory presets not 25 showed on the webpage; isolated summer-time-button on the side may be easy to use, but leads to miss-pressed sometimes, results in the time is an hour early or late which is very SCARY sometimes.
Overall, this producd is ok to buy but i beleive you can get better clock radio at the same price.

Title : IHome Portable travel alarm clock for ipod black
Author :
Rating : 1 Stars out of 5.
Summary : A very disappointing item!
This item has two major design flaws
1) No gradual volume wake up (unlike the ih5)... and worse...the volume is automatically set to 4/10 (for wake-up in ipod mode) which is very loud and impossible to change...not a good start to the day!
2) Given the size of the speakers, the sound quality is very poor..distortion at low volume even using soft music.

Title : iPod Speaker Dock with AM/FM Radio Alarm Clock and Charging Cradle - White

Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Does exactly what it says on the tin - at a great price
I had read the previous reviews before buying this and went with the majority who said it was good. This is an excellent product for the price. You won't blow the roof off your house with the sound but it's perfectly adequate. It's sturdy, attractive and good quality. It would make an excellent replacement to the sort of cd/radio that you would keep in the kitchen or by your bedside and if you put batteries in you can take it outside. The real bonus is that when it's plugged into the mains it will charge your ipod so you don't have to faff around using your pc. I would highly recommend this to anyone and already have!

Title : Sleep Time Bunny Alarm Clock. Childrens Alar clock
Author :
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Not cheap, but worth it for the extra minutes of peace in bed!
We bought this clock for our 3 year old son as a way of trying to stop him rushing into our bedroom as soon as he woke up in the morning (whatever time that might be), and it has been a great success. The clock has been designed in a fun way, with ears that move and eyes and mouth that open and close depending on whether the alarm is set. If you wish you can have an audible alarm, but we find the rabbit being awake or asleep enough. If our son wakes up and the bunny is still asleep he knows to wait till the bunny wakes up! He carries it around with him and it has been robust enough to put up with most that has been done to it.
Just once, when it fell off his chair onto a wooden floor, the mechanism jammed (the ears are a little vulnerable), but I was able to remove the back and fix it. The only other negative point (which goes for many analogue alarm clocks) is that as our son goes to bed around 8pm and we want him to stay in bed till 7.30 or 8am, we have to initially set the alarm to about 7.15 - any later and the bunny wakes up again immediately. Then we go into his room later in the evening to move the alarm to the desired time.
In summary, its quite a bit of money for a clock but its well designed, robust, gives you more sleep time, and hopefully will help your child to tell the time into the bargain. Doesn't appear to be heavy on the AA batteries either.

Title : Sony ICF-C115 Cube design clock radio - Silver
Author :
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : excellent value for money
Large display makes it easy to read at night in one glance. Very easy to use. Reliable. Only drawback is that it is slightly bulky (thus missing some 'style' points, but I would not really expect anything different at this pice).

Title : Intempo Digital RS-01 Bedside CD radio alarm clock with DAB FM. Pearlescent.
Author :
Rating : 1 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Don't let its good looks deceive you!
This was bought as a present for me for my birthday. It has impressive looks, and specification, but if you want to use it's alarm clock function, then FORGET IT!!
When waking up to Dab for instance, radio comes on pleasantly quietly. Fine!...then the volume steps up slightly, Still ok!...then it steps up again, then again...WWWHOOOAAAAA!!!
If you think you are going to get woken up gently, think again! Probably more likely it will have you soiling your bed with fright!!
Looks like this is the norm judging by other reviewers on here, and from Intempo's helpline.
I cannot seriously believe they have marketed this item as an alarm clock, with the actual alarm being it's one serious flaw, a very very unacceptable flaw at that.
I was so sure that this in no way could be a designed feature of the clock, that I returned my first unit...then was absolutely sickened to find out the replacement was exactly the same....then thats when my further research proved that this WAS the norm!!! utterly unbelievable!!!!! This second one is now going back, and I will look for something similar from a different manufacturer...trouble is, there's not a lot of these about!! The other thing that appealed to me was that apparently this was made in England (Manchester), seems the theory is right that we can't make anything here in the U.K.!!
Avoid this if you are looking for an alarm clock!!!
Sickening!

Title : Pure Chronos DAB Alarm Clock Radio - Silver
Author :
Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Great features but a few niggles
I bought the Pure Chronos earlier this year when I was resident in the mainland. The design and features are great and it was easy to set up. Like so many other people the brightness of the display was a surprise as I would have thought that people designing a bedside clock would make sure the display could be dimmed enough for people to sleep.
The sound quality was very good but the alarm failed to go off one morning as the station it was set to had become too weak to be picked up. If you don't want to be late for work make sure you select the buzzer. However, being able to select different alarms for different days is a benefit.
I have since moved away from the UK and can no longer pick up digital radio. Despite the brochure saying stations can be set manually this is not the case and nor can you set the clock. I did contact Pure for a second time and sadly they were actually quite unfriendly and unhelpful.
I now have an unusual paperweight/dust catcher and can only hope it will work if I eventually get digital in this area.

Title : GEAR4 HouseParty 24/7 - iPod Alarm Clock Radio - Black
Author :
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Good but not perfect
For the money, this appears to be a good product (that said I don't have any experience of other docking stations). The build quality is good and it sounds OK - good enough for listening to in the bedroom anyway. The buttons feel good and the LED display is nice. Overall I am very happy with this item.
Things which could be improved (and really easy too I would think)
1. The LED display can be dimmed, which is a nice touch. BUT, it doesn't save the dimmed setting, so you need to do this each time you use the docking station - why?
2. The volume, on minimum the sound is still quite loud, not uncomfortably, but still higher than I would like, expecially as I listen to this at night time. I found this with my ipod too, so maybe I have sensitive ears or the volume is controlled from the Ipod - not convinced.
3. The remote control, a great feature but badly implemented. Yes, even when you are next to the docking station, it is handy not to have to reach out to change track. The remote control is not backlit\glo-in-the-dark and the layout choice is not very intiutive.
4. AM reception - maybe it is just mine, but I couldn't get a decent AM signal, even with the aerial fully extended.
So overall not a bad item, well priced but a few - easily solved - problems.
Would I recommend - yes with the above explanation.

Summary : Bad
I have had two as I received a replacement for the first one but the second one had the same fault. The alarm goes off at the wrong time and after that you cannot switch the appliance off. Big disappointment

Title : Sony ICF-CD855L CD Clock Radio
Author :
Rating : 1 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Design to look good, but not practical
The design of this product is great, however, it fell short of many functionality expected of a radio alarm clock. (1) The clock digits are hard to see (you'd need to strain your eyes to see what time it is in the morning). (2) The clock backlight doesn't seem to help make the clock display clearer, instead it makes the bedroom much brighter when you want complete darkness to sleep! (3) Apart from the big snooze button, every other buttons are too small.
Summary: if you want a decent CD/Radio/Buzzer radio alarm clock, look elsewhere.

Title : iPod Speaker Dock with AM/FM Radio Alarm Clock and Charging Cradle - Black
Author :
Rating : 2 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Maybe i was just unlucky...
I had to get a replacement within a week and now i have to send the new one back too! Both times the On/Off switch simply stopped working, useless if you want to use it as an alarm clock.
